Founded in the 12th century as a fortified town by the Almohad dynasty, the city’s main touristic features are « Chellah », the most ancient human settlement on the mouth of the Bouregreg River, « Hassan Tower », the minaret of an incomplete mosque, « Mohammed V mausoleum », a masterpiece of modern Alaouite dynasty architecture, the « Oudayyas Kasbah », a city within a city, and the « Royal palace », the primary and official residence of the king of Morocco dating back to the 19th century.
The conference is scheduled to take place at the Farah Hotel, which has a strategic location, close to the Hassan Tower and the city center.
